Less than two weeks after Mark joined, aeiou began playing Tubaman's, a North Park bar. Ultimately, aeiou became a Tubaman's staple, performing every other week. Other performances included, Earthday, NBC Morning news, San Diego's Gay Pride Festival, The Dog (P.B. Bar), Blind Melons, Winstons, San Diego County Fair, Keeth Mahoogan Festivals, The Tiki bar, and ultimately The Belly Up Tavern in Solona Beach.
aeiou is the winner of Spotlight San Diego 2000, an annual year long battle of the bands held at The Belly Up Tavern. After winning best of the night, aeiou went on to win best of month, best of quarter, and then the grand prize, best of the year.
